Sold in Centerstone Village within 19 days!

t25Congratulations to our Sellers and Buyers of this beautiful home in Centerstone Village!

Mr. & Mrs. Tanchak, our Sellers

and

Mr. & Mrs. Wood, our Buyers

We listed this home in Centerstone and knew that the right buyer would come along and appreciate all it has to offer.  Mr. & Mrs. Wood came to us via Active Rain and my Blog.  They interviewed a couple of our buyers, after asking for three clients and phone numbers.  They were impressed with what they heard and we helped them when it came to getting a hotel to stay in while they waited for this home to be vacated for early occupancy. They also made the comment that they have learned so much from our blog! We try very hard to give as much information as we can get out, in the time that we have between clients, to all of you who are searching or maybe already have their Agent but still needing to find more information.

If you are in need of finding the right home and would like to interview our clients to see if we would be a good fit for your needs, please email, call or text us @ (931) 206-2156.

Once again, congratulations to our clients on the perfect home for them and the sale of their home!

Father’s Day | June 21, 2009

istock_000009374589xsmall1 The third Sunday of June is set aside for Father’s day.  It started back in 1908, when the first Father’s day is believed to be held, in a church located in Fairmont, West Virginia.  Mrs. Sonora Smart Dodd of Washington thought independently of the holiday one Sunday in 1909 while listening to a Mother’s Day sermon and arranged a tribute to her Father the following  year on June 19, 1910.  She was the first to solicit the idea of having an official Father’s day observance to honor all fathers. (See full article here)

What are some ideas for Father’s Day?  I know this year, my children are teenagers now and no longer do they need Mommy and Daddy to go buy the gifts for the other.  We have opened an account for each of our kids with our  bank.  With these accounts they get the debit/credit card which we can manage and put money on or if they have a job: babysitting, mowing lawns, etc… they can bring their check to us and with our bank we can deposit at home.  So, we deposit their money into their account.  It is teaching them responsibility on spending and having the freedom to go and buy something without us being around.  For Mother’s Day, my husband was TDY and he went ahead and put some of their allowance on their cards.  They went to the store on their own, one of them is driving now, and bought my gift and decorations.  It was awesome to see them get so into the “holiday” and I didn’t have to do anything.  For Father’s Day, I will be doing the same thing.  It is their Father, so they will be going to the store or staying home and making something that express’ what their Daddy means to them.

Some sites for children to get ideas for their Daddy, in case they aren’t driving yet, and for those who are, can be found at:

For the Father of my children, I would like to share a few photo’s that have meaning to me.

These pictures are when Art became a Father for the first time.  This is our, not so little anymore, Erikka on the day of her birth, December 26, 1991:

This is one of my favorite pictures of Art and our son Nick when Art took him to see his first Nascar race in Indianapolis, IN for the Brickyard 400:

As a daughter whose Father lives, soon to be right across the street, I would like to share a few photos of when we were younger.  Much younger!  My Dad was stationed at Ft. Rucker, AL when I was born.  He then went through flight school and became a Pilot.  Flying in Vietnam and all over.  A founding Night Stalker with the 160th SOAR, I am now a Lady Night Stalker, singing at the events that my Dad was once part of and now my husband is part of.  I was always a Daddy’s girl growing up and when my parents divorced, I was 10, it was pretty rough for me to not be around him anymore.  We were at Ft. Campbell, KY and moved back to Ozark, AL where my Mother is from.  Through the years, the tough teenage growing years, there were a lot of growing pains.  Especially when divorce is involved.  Trying to find out why and who was at fault for separating the family.  As an adult and a Mother of my own children, I know that marriage is rough and it isn’t always greener on the other side.  We all make our choices and my parents made theirs.  Now so many years later, picking up where I once was at age 10, living in Werner Park on Hawaii St. in Ft. Campbell, I am now living in Clarksville, TN with my family, where my Dad never moved from. Living so close to my Dad, I have had the opportunity to heal hurts and get to know the man he is.  He is now around his grandchildren and enjoying the time we all have together. Not taking one day for granted.

Here are some pictures way back when:

scan0014scan0015

So, to my Dad, I want you to know that I love you and thank the Lord that He blessed me with you. All the trials, tears, joys and laughter have made me what I am today. And from what you are always telling me, you are very proud of the woman I have become. So, thank you, even thougth it was hard.  I hope you have a wonderful Father’s Day and thank you for being my Daddy.

Update On Gabbie

I have heard from a lot of you, asking me how my new addition, Gabbie, was doing since we brought her home.  I haven’t written much about her, heck, I haven’t written much of anything since I got her home.  She is something else!  I believe I just might have to go to PetSmart and do the puppy training course.

memorialday-005They say with Chow Chow’s that they pick a family and inside that family they pick a person.  Angel had picked Art.  Gabbie has picked me! It’s really a new experience for me.  I have never had a pet choose me like this dog has.  Just the sound of my voice will make her stop what she is doing with anyone else and come running to me.  It really touches me to see her playing with someone else and when I call her she comes. She has been missing me when I am gone, due to work.

So, let me give you a typical day with Gabbie!

First of all, she sleeps in our bed!  She is getting bigger and we know there won’t be much more time for her to be sleeping in the bed with us.  She cannot jump down yet.  One thing that seems to be bad right now, (I feel like there is a newborn in the house again), is while we are snoozing away at 2 a.m., the cat will walk in the room or one of the other dogs and she will start barking! Waking me up, scaring the crap out of me, thinking someone is in the house! So, I guess you couldgabbie2 say she is a great security alarm!  At 6, she gets to go outside, once I have put her on the floor.  She is the first one up and when she is done using the bathroom, she wants back inside.  She will sit at the door and wait.  She won’t bark.  Then she comes into the kitchen and starts drinking the fresh water I have put out, then puts both front paws in the water and does a quick soak and runs all over the house getting my hardwood floors all wet.  She does this about 3 or 4 times a day!  Once that is done and she sees her friends up and getting around, she starts hopping around them like a bunny.  Wanting to play, she bites Taffy’s tail, which makes her do this horridence bark/cry, like she is dying and Gabbie just keeps on and on.  When it is time for getting a treat, which is a dog bone, she goes crazy.  I have to give one to her first because if the others get one, she will go after their bone, which starts a fight. Ughhh!  She is already taking control.  None of the other animals have stood up and taken her under their wing, like a “mother” figure.  They won’t even play with her.  It’s pretty sad but I think they will eventually come around, but maybe not.  I wonder if we got her too soon for them.

During the day, when I am on the computer, she will come in my office and sit under my feet or lay on the air condition vent. memorialday-010 If I am in the living room she is right there beside me or laying on an air condition vent.  She loves the vents.  She seems to always be hot and having that part of her tummy on a cool spot is great for her.  Maybe that is why she soaks her paws!  Oh, she loves ice cubes!  What a mess that is.  We will put ice cubes in the water bowl outside and she will take her paw and hit them, causing them to come up out of the water like a fish jumping around, and she will grab one with her mouth and chew it!  That is a huge water mess. She loves it.

We will be getting her fixed soon and while that is being done she will also have her eyes worked on.  Her eye lashes are growing inward, causing her eyes to constantly water, leaving the tear stains on her face.  She is getting bigger and pretty soon I will be trying the walk around the block.  My son has already tried it and only got about a quarter of a mile and had to call me to come get her because she wouldn’t go any further with him!  We will see just how far she goes with me.

She likes to go into the bathrooms and empty the garbage or better yet, she likes to get the toilet paper and run with it!  It is reminding me of the scenes from the movie “Marley and Me”.  Our other animals just don’t have the energy that she does.  The one playmate she has, believe it or not, if our cat, Fez.  Poor Fez!  As soon as Gabbie sees him, she runs and play-attacks.  Fez sees her coming and just lays on his back waiting for the pounce.  It is something watching the two of them.  A cat and a chow chow playing!

So these are the days with Gabbers…

Congratulations to Our Newest Buyers!

justsoldMr. McMillan called me about a home he was interested in and asked for more information. I informed him that if he had any other homes that he might be interested in, to please let me know.  It doesn’t matter if my company is the listing agency or not.  I can get all information on any home and I can also get them into any home for sale.  He did just that.

This weekend he traveled from another base to Clarksville with his family, to start his search process and hopefully find what he and his wife would love to call home.  I worked with Mr. McMillan in the week before coming, asking him to pick out his top 10.  He also pick out over 25 homes on my site that he saved and I asked him to pick out his top 10 from that search for the next day, if he didn’t find what he liked from his first top 10 on his first day of searching with me.  It was wonderful working with him and his wife.

It just so happened that his family picked the house that they wanted to call home!

I am so happy that I was part of this life decision and helping them get a wonderful deal!

Congratulations to:

Mr. and Mrs. McMillan!

Looking forward to seeing you and your family in your new home and hearing how much you love it!

If you are a buyer who is in need of someone to help you with your search and to make things a little easier than it has been, please text or call us at 931-206-2156.  We would love the opportunity to see the smile on your face that is on Mr. & Mrs. McMillan’s right now!

House Hunting?

Here is the question a lot of future home buyers ask their family and friends.

Should I get a Real Estate Agent from the start, or should I look around on my own?

If you are knowledgeable about a region, it wouldn’t hurt to start driving around.  Identify neighborhoods in which you might want to live.  It would be great to visit those neighborhoods at many times of the day, including weekends and here’s why.  Imagine you find the house that  you love and you decide to drive by on Sunday afternoon and stop in on Wednesday afternoon. During both visits, the neighborhood seems peaceful and quiet.  You buy the house, and on your first Monday morning there, at 7 a.m., horns blare and tires screech.  It happens that your street is a good rush-hour shortcut around the town’s business district.  There go your peacefull mornings and dinner hours. So, it might be important for you to visit at all hours of the day. In the morning, around lunch time and in the evening.  I am not saying go over there every day of the week in the morning, afternoon and evening.  Just check out an early morning, if you can or if you even care about the issue of a busy neighborhood.  Definitely check out the evenings, especially friday and saturday nights.

If you are the customer who doesn’t want to have an agent in the early stages of house hunting and you have found the neighborhood you want to live in, then give us a call and we can get you into every home that is for sale in that neighborhood, whether the home is listed with us or with another company.  If, however, you are moving to this area and are new and don’t have a clear sense of where you want to live, you can speed up the house-hunting process by asking an agent (that is us :) ) to take you around.  The agent cannot tell you what neighborhoods are the best or if the neighborhood is high in crime.  That will have to be searched out by you due to legal issues for the agent. Even at the very beginning of the process, it is important to work with an agent you feel you can communicate with.  Search the web if you are out of state or even a current resident, which I believe you already are doing since you are reading my Blog, and learn as much as you can about the agent you might be interested in working with.  You can search their company name, their name, and see what is going on with this agent. (You will be able to read about Team Agnew following those links.)

Most importantly, when you are looking for an agent, I can’t stress enough that you will not be paying this agent for the work they are doing to help you in your house hunting, negotiating the best deal and closing on your future home!  Your agent, which negotiated the deal to close in your best interest, is paid by the agent’s brokerage.  Some buyers who don’t know this are worried to choose a Realtor to work and be committed to working with because they fear they are paying for them to help.  That is not the case with Team Agnew.  We have never been paid by our buyers and never will. Just like you interview agents to work with, we interview our customers to work with.  We want to make sure that the communication is good and that way the experience of buying a home will be a joyful one!

If you have any questions, please feel free to call/text or email us.  We would be happy to answer, free, any questions you might have, if we can legally do so.

Congratulations To Our Buyers!

justsoldA while back, Art and I were showing potential homes to our Buyers who bought last month. While we were out, we came up to a home that was next on our list and there, peaking in the windows, was a couple who were interested in the home we were about to show.

Art walked up to them and introduced himself and asked if there was anything he could help them with.  Asking if they were currently working with any Realtor, they said no.  He then offered to allow them to view the home once our current buyers were finished, if they didn’t mind.  The waited patiently by their car as our Buyers took a look around. Once we were finished, I escorted them into the home and allowed them the opportunity to view what they were interested in.

Once they were finished, we handed them our card and asked them to give us a call if they saw anything else they might want to see.

They did.

We are so happy that we could help them find their “great deal” on the home they are purchasing!

Congratulations to:

Daniel and Kassie York!

Looking forward to seeing you in your new home and hearing how much you love it!
